Mary Koenen Clausen's mixed media collages are rich in texture and image. They are usually broken up into three areas: heaven, earth, and underground. Figures composed of mismatched heads and bodies float among animals, icons, musical notes, and foreign texts on backgrounds thickly painted with deep hues. Mary sees the musical notes and foreign text, some of which she reproduces in her own hand, as visual elements rather than symbols or messages.

Mary says of her process: "Collage is a matter of refining design. I sit with the pieces scattered around me and they come together. I always think in terms of layers. I don't treat collage different from painting." (www.olsonlarsen.com)

Price's nonfiction writing about nature, family, and spirit has appeared in many publications, including The Christian Science Monitor and Best Spiritual Writing 2000. Free and open to the public; A native of Bethlehem, Palestine, Daoud Nassar is a Palestinian Christian, fluent in Arabic, German and English. Annually, nearly 4,000 international tourists visit the Nassar family's ancestral land—a 100-acre hilltop site situated between Bethlehem and Hebron in the West Bank. The attraction is the Tent of Nations, an open and free enclave that serves as an educational and cultural center for local Palestinians and Israelis, including the international visitors. Tent of Nations is located on land owned by the Nassar family since the grandfather purchased the land in 1916. The Israeli Military Administration is threatening to illegally confiscate 70% of this land although the family has possession of all land registration documents. The Nassar family has been in battle with the Israeli courts for more than 18 years as the Israeli Military continues to defer the case due to lack of evidence and no proof of land documentation on their part. The family has spent tens of thousands of dollars on legal fees. In the face of Israeli road blockades, the family has rallied the international community to help get their agricultural products to market. Nassar is committed to the belief that nonviolent resistance will bring a just peace to Palestine and Israel. For more info, visit www.tentofnations.org. College Community Choir and College Community Orchestra will honor the 200th anniversary of Haydn's death by performing The Creation.

In his last years, Franz Joseph Haydn created his masterpiece, oratorio The Creation. The Austrian classical composer expressed his vision of the creation, as told in the Holy Bible and John Milton's poem Paradise Lost.

The College Community Choir is under the direction of Mark Babcock. The College Community Orchestra is under the direction of Ty Myers.

The Battle for Whiteclay is a documentary about the protests against alcohol sales in Whiteclay, Nebraska to the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota. It movingly details the crippling poverty and alcoholism that the Native American population in this area are subject to (4-5 families suffer from both alcoholism and poverty and liquor stores sell nearly 12,000 cans of beer a day).
